13.56-MHz Contactless Smartcard Module with MIFARE® DESFire® EV1 is available now available through Digital Monitoring Products (DMP).

Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), a manufacturer of intrusion, fire and access control panels and accessories, announces the release of its newest assortment of readers and cards.

The new line of readers and cards use Mifare DESFire EV1 features. DESFire is a high-end chipset in the MIFARE family that is the first chip compliant with the Government Smart Card Interoperability Specification (GSC-IS), according to the company.

“These devices communicate at 13.56 MHz, not 125 kHz, which reduces the ability to copy a credential,” says Adam Kinder, DMP access control product manager. “Also, the data on the card is secured across multiple sectors that must authenticate with the correct encryption keys before any data is exchanged.”

All readers provide 125 kHz transmit frequency and are compatible with all DMP panels. They also easily interface with DMP 7073, 7073A, 7173, or 7800 Series keypads, and 734, 734N, or 734N-Wi-Fi Wiegand Interface Modules.

They can be mounted directly on metal enclosures and are sealed in weatherized polycarbonate enclosures designed to withstand harsh environments, allowing for both indoor and outdoor installation.
